For the second year in a row, Hertz’s Gold Plus won the 2014 award of best car rental reward and loyalty program in the Americas, Europe, Middle East/Asia/Pacific.

For the survey, thousands of registered FlyerTalk subscribers were questioned to nominate their favorite travel rewards programs in four main categories: best overall rewards programs, best travel reward program benefit (Americas), best travel reward program benefit (Europe/Africa), and best travel reward program benefit (the Middle East/Asia/Oceania) including airline, hotel, and rental car programs, in addition to best specific program benefits.

Out of 10 car rental companies ranked, best rental car benefits again went to Hertz Gold Plus Rewards for giving members points toward free rentals or exchange for other programs, miles, or points. Then, Avis was listed second best in Europe and Middle East/Asia/Pacific, and third behind National in Americas.

European car rental leader, Europcar, was listed #5 in Europe behind Sixt (3rd) and National (4th).

Interesting point: Nissan rent-a-car, which is not a regular pure player, was ranked in the fourth position for Middle East/Asia/Pacific.
